This position is currently offering a $1,000 bonus In 1993, Spectrum established its Correctional Treatment Division to provide specialized treatment to offenders with a history of chronic substance abuse and criminal behavior. Using a cognitive-behavioral skill building and therapeutic community approach, Spectrum's correctional treatment programs teach participants practical ways to achieve a law abiding life, free from drugs and crime. Today, Spectrum provides a range of services to more than 6,500 criminal offenders each day, in community-based settings and correctional institutions throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.  

This position provides a continuum of parenting services for mothers being held at South Middlesex Correctional Center (SMCC), in order to establish and enhance healthy parent/child relationships.  A successful candidate will have working knowledge of DCF.  This candidate will also be able to motivate women to apply the parenting skills they are learning during visiting opportunities with their children.  This position requires team collaboration, effective time management and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage self and make decisions in a client's crisis situation. Group facilitation and case management are key components of the job responsibilities.

Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm, with an evening shift 2 Thursdays per month from 11:00am-7:30pm.

Qualifications:

  • BA or equivalent or experience in lieu of a bachelors.
  • Experience in criminal justice, human services, education or closely related field required.
  • DOC experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working with or for, Department of Children and Families (DCF)
  •   *CB
