SUMMARY:  The Business Intelligence Developer role is to develop reports using the requirements from the various business units across the Spectrum Health Systems organization.  All custom report development projects must be carefully and thoroughly planned to provide the greatest opportunity for success. This individual will use proven experience to establish a formal reporting development methodology (A.K.A. Project Lifecycle) for use at Spectrum. This methodology will guide the development process from requirements definition and planning, through development, deployment and continuous improvement. This position will focus primarily on using Crystal Reports against an Intersystem’s Cache database supporting the myAvatar electronic health record application from Netsmart, Inc.  With less frequency, the candidate will be asked to work with internal stakeholders to develop reports from Salesforce.com and our various ERP applications.

This role will work closely with internal clinical, administrative and financial stakeholders within Spectrum.  This includes work with IT liaison staff employed by the clinical and finance departments to translate detailed business specifications into report development requirement documents, test plans and ultimately reporting deliverables. This position will play a key role in the transformation of vast amounts of clinical data into meaningful information that provides key actionable insights.  

QUALIFICATIONS: 

4+ years of experience in the healthcare industry

  • Crystal Report Writer experience

  • SQL knowledge, preferably in Oracle environments

  • Strong customer focus

  • Maintain high standards of data integrity

  • Strong communications (written and verbal)

  • Highly functioning analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables

  • Successfully ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

  • Experience with EMR data and applications.  Preferably Netsmart’s myAvatar HER.

  • Flexible work schedule to ensure dates and deliverables are preserved

  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.

  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.

  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

  • Customer service skills are critical

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
