Registered Nurse

Location: Worcester, MA - Merrick Street Outpatient Treatment Program

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Pay rate: $34.50/hour-$39.94/hour.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for:

• Administers medications and transcribes orders and interventions for opioid use disorders to patients safely as outlined in the medication administration policy, program procedures and as ordered by the medical providers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinates and manages care and medication with external entities and insurance companies consistent with care needs.
• Responsible for the control, counting and appropriate documentation of onsite medication including medication destruction and maintaining accuracy of dispensing and inventory records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Educates patients on indications of usage, side effects, interactions with other substances/medications and other information relating to medication for opioid use disorders as well as illicit substance and opioid use risks, overdose prevention and harm reduction strategies.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Must be a Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred.
