Job Description

Funded by the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services, Bright Futures is a youth-centered, family-focused residential substance abuse treatment program for twelve to fourteen male youth in Methuen, Massachusetts.  Utilizing a strengths-based, trauma-informed, individualized approach, Bright Futures teaches youth the skills necessary to maintain drug-free, pro-social lifestyles.  Programming is designed to address the numerous issues that are known contributors to substance abuse and delinquency, such as family functioning, interpersonal relations, impulse control, poor decision-making skills, thrill seeking behaviors and responses to authority. 
 

The Juvenile Correctional Officer or 'Recovery Specialist I', ensures residents are provided with a safe and secure environment by following the policies and procedures of the program and demonstrating a positive, responsible, and respectful presence on the unit. 

Pay for this position is $15.00/hour. Spectrum offers comprehensive benefits including but not limited to: health/dental/voluntary insurances, paid time off, and 401k with company match.
 

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience working with at-risk adolescent males.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and staff required
  • Demonstrated qualities that evidence maturity, effective communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
